Bless the Lord, O My Soul – Psalm 103 At Its Finest Hour!

imagePsalm 103 is a very popular psalm in the bible. I have read it countless times, but this time around, I decided to slow down and pay more mind. My focus in this blog is going to be on verses one to five. I hope that you will be blessed by some of the insights that I have gained into the Lord’s blessings in this powerful psalm that we all so love.

Verse 1: Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

God wants all of you; not an eighth, not a quarter, and not even half!  He wants ALL of you! He is the lover of your soul. He deserves your whole focus. He is jealous when someone gives to another something that rightly belongs to Him.

Exodus 34:14   He is El-Kanna the Jealous God

Verse 2: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits;

We enjoy His benefits of good health, protection, joy, His breath in us, peace,  and the beauty of His creation, etc. We must always be grateful for the benefits we enjoy.

Prayer;

  1. What a gracious God we serve! He saves us from destruction, forgives, restores, provides and protects. Focusing on all he does for us – even in the hardest and most challenging times – transforms our hearts so they beat with gratitude.
