What are you, really? What makes you tick? What do you stand for? These questions may seem strange but have you given them much thought? It is important to be honest with ourselves, own ourselves, flaws and all.
Speaking of flaws, perchance, might you find yourself in any of the following groups of people:
“I will be whatever you want me to be,” says “the people pleaser.”
“I like you because you like me,” says “the stingy one.”
“It is all about me, me, me, me, says “the self-centered, narcissistic one”
“It is too hard, I am not motivated, I am not cut out for this, I will just follow your lead.” says “the follower.”
“I have no ambition, I am just content here because I can’t do anything, but how come that one over there gets to soar?” says “the PHD – the Pull Her Down crew” – and there is a whole bunch of them.
Then, there is the “compassionate, kind, and loving one” who gives and gives till they are burnt out. They cry out “where is my help?” These ones get quoted Galatians 6:9, “Don’t be weary in doing good …….”
There are many other examples out there that I cannot capture. We all, most likely though, fit into one or more of these categories. If you are discontented with where you are at, you are the only one who can take stock and make the changes required. In fact, I would encourage you to do so.
You are meant to live and fulfill destiny. It is not enough to just exist, period. Do some intense reflection and soul searching. You have to come to the point where you understand who you truly are. You, dear woman, are created in the image of God. He is your strength and source. It is He who will empower you to soar in life. You have to be willing to do the self-work though.
Mountains are meant to be climbed. Do not give up and stay at the bottom. Imagine or think about the untapped talents and strengths inside you. You are not giving the world and other women the benefit of drawing from or tapping into it. Is that what you want, to die unfulfilled with life not fully lived? Get up and keep moving. Encourage yourself, find like-minded people who will push you on to success. It is never too late.
