It has been rather hard getting back into the swing of things after the Christmas holidays. The days of staying up late, getting up whenever you want have come and gone. One must now deal with becoming robotic once more; responding to the incessant ringing of alarm bells every morning. If you are a light sleeper like myself, well you are in deep trouble. I need to make a phone call to God; somehow “For so He gives His beloved sleep” (Psalm 127:2), seems to have skipped me 😳😳.
I was not going to sit around waiting to go to work tired from lack of sleep. In 2017, I am on the offensive so taking the bull by the horns, I went in search of a solution. I do not believe in sleeping pills, the variety your doctor is happy to ply you with, if you deign to say you are having problems sleeping. I am not interested in becoming hooked on sleeping pills. I like the natural stuff so I went to Bath and Body and came away with a lavender vanilla body mist which would do the trick for sleep time or melatonin sometimes. For energy in the morning, a ginger and orange body mist. It does not hurt to throw in some ginseng.Yes, I am a woman on a mission, it is is important for me to be focused and alert on the job, period.
In 2017, one of my my major goals is alertness on the spiritual front. As a believer, I must not lull myself into complacency, it is important that I keep my spiritual fires burning – praying at all times, praying without ceasing
A prayerless believer is a sitting duck, end of story. Pray, read the word, encourage yourself with music that edifies and draws you close to God. Yes, you can also pray warfare prayers, be on the offensive instead of defensive in reaction to the attacks when they come. Trust me, they will come. Yes, warfare prayers, it is in the bible, read some of the psalms of David and you will know! The time for “polite Chrisrianity” is over, let us call a spade a spade and deal with it for it will save us from a lot of grief. Whoever said Christian
walk is a bed of roses is a deceiver.
Today, believers are perishing physically, spiritually, emotionally etc due to ignorance of the power they have in the word of God. The Chrisrian walk is a full meal deal; it is not buffet style where we pick and choose what we want. Do not just dip your fingers or toes into it, dabbling it in it only when it is convenient. Be like Peter who said to Jesus, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head”. It is an all or nothing deal.
In 2017, resolve to stay alert and on the offensive in prayer, for our enemy the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith…. A believer who is full of fire is certainly “armed and dangerous”, approach at your own peril. Remember, stay alert!
